This scrimshawed flat powder horn has a decorative border around the base with scrimshaw floral designs on both sides. The horn has a brown tip with a creamy white body. The neck of the horn has raised ring to secure a strap, and scrimshaw border transition to the body. A iron staple is mounted in the base. The horn measures 9-1/2" around the outside curve from the tip to the end of the wood base. Small wood pegs secure the base to the horn. A turned wooden stopper is fitted and secured with a lanyard to prevent loss.
